Reviewing Cloud Atlas is similar to reviewing a six-story anthology - some stories are good, some not. Cloud Atlas is a consuming novel with somewhat interconnected storylines, going from good to bad to good to just confusing. There are many missed opportunities for storylines and flat characters, although this is understandable given the varying formats.
Thee fast-paced narrative and slow dialogue, make for a pleasing and unorthodox combination, while main characters are dimensional and relatable. I recommend it for everyone but young children.
